2019 Inaugural Conference on Violence

April 25th – 27th, Renaissance Hotel & Conference Center, Tulsa, OK

If you work in law enforcement, the military, corrections, security, executive protection, carry a gun for self defense, or are simply a person interested in understanding, identifying, and avoiding the criminal culture, mindset, and their propensity for violent behavior, then you need to attend this conference. We are bringing two of the leading experts in a variety of disciplines related to criminal culture and behavior. You will receive up to 16 hours of lecture training from these experts and leave with a better understanding of identifying, avoiding, and dealing with violent criminal behavior. Additionally, you can join us to listen as a panel of survivors recount their experiences and view a special screening of the movie "Dinkheller", the true story of an event which is still taught in law enforcement circles 21 years after it happened. Silent auctions will be held over these 3 days to benefit the Oklahoma Chapter of Concerns Of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.).

Varg Freeborn, One Life Defense, LLC - Varg Freeborn is a author, fitness coach, violence educator and lethal force firearms instructor widely known for his unique background in the violent criminal underworld. His breadth of real experience is unmatched in criminal violence education.

He is widely regarded for his work in the arena of criminal violence education. His talks and instruction provide compelling insight into the world of extreme criminal violence. Unlikely most educators and trainers, Varg spent his entire youth and young adulthood living and participating in the criminal underworld. Many of those years were spent immersed in criminal combat culture.

Upon leaving that life behind, Varg made up for lost time by applying himself to the martial arts, boxing, personal fitness training, and most importantly to gunfighting. Due to his unique skill set and experience he has worked for, trained under and with, some of the best gunfighters in the world including national level SWAT trainers, U.S. Special Forces veterans, and foreign Special Forces combat instructors. He has been granted access to closed law enforcement training, and police training facilities. When coupled with his documented experience with extreme violence, his training and experience arguably spans a wider spectrum than any other instructor in the field of civilian criminal violence today.

As a speaker, his raw and unique style pulls no punches as he captures the attention of his audience by “telling it like it is”. Drawing on his personal life, he shares with his audience the inner world of the violent criminal that only can be explained from someone who has not only studied the science behind violence, but has also lived it and participated in it. With direct experience in the legal field, the gun and personal-defense industries, and several years as a professional fitness coach and several years as a combat athlete, Varg not only has the legitimate street cred of experience, but also a well-rounded education and professional resume.

Varg’s insights and influence have had widespread impact on the training industry.  His personal experience with violence and training have enabled him to develop and test a unique instructional program that has advanced the capabilities of hundreds of people.  His goal is to help people defeat violent criminals physically and prevail during the legal, social, and psychological aftermath.

“Dinkheller” Movie, Patrick W. Shaver (Director of “Officer Involved”) – Join us for a special screening of a feature-length documentary film to learn the true story behind the most infamous police LOD shooting in recent American history. This film will change how LE academies and agencies teach this event to their Officers. The story isn’t what you’ve been told, and the truth will shock you when you hear it. Prior to the showing of the movie, Mr. Shaver will discuss his background, and how the movie came to be.  Afterward, the audience is invited to participate in a Q&A discussion of the movie and the story it tells.

“Twenty years ago, Georgia Deputy Kyle Dinkheller was brutally murdered along a cold stretch of highway in rural Georgia in what has become the most infamous police dash cam video ever captured. The footage itself has been seen around the world millions of times, often attached to false stories and rumors. In 2017, one police officer sought to understand who that deputy was outside of one bad day and, in doing so, found a seed of truth that turned a short film into a feature-length investigation.” - www.dinkhellermovie.com
